Mathematicians on Postage Stamps

Mathematician is a person whose area of study and research of mathematics. The term is also addressed to those who master the science of mathematics. Unlike science, the general mathematical research is not conducted experiments. In mathematics, the truth is derived from other truths that have been previously known. If the experiment with the computer and numerical data involved, the expected end result is a theorem. The calculation is not a big part of the study of mathematics, and mathematicians do not need to have a great ability to add and multiply numbers. Differences mathematicians with scientists ( eg physicists ) is a mathematician in general do not perform experiments to support or reject its conclusions. Theory of natural science ( eg Newton's gravitational theory ) should be modified or revised, along with the discovery of new data and experimental results are inconsistent with predictions of the theory. On the other hand, the mathematical theory is static. If a theorem is proved, then the theorem is true for all.
