Mathematicians on Postage Stamps

Mathematician is a person whose area of study and research of mathematics. The term is also addressed to those who master the science of mathematics. Unlike science, the general mathematical research is not conducted experiments. In mathematics, the truth is derived from other truths that have been previously known. If the experiment with the computer and numerical data involved, the expected end result is a theorem. The calculation is not a big part of the study of mathematics, and mathematicians do not need to have a great ability to add and multiply numbers. Differences mathematicians with scientists ( eg physicists ) is a mathematician in general do not perform experiments to support or reject its conclusions. Theory of natural science ( eg Newton's gravitational theory ) should be modified or revised, along with the discovery of new data and experimental results are inconsistent with predictions of the theory. On the other hand, the mathematical theory is static. If a theorem is proved, then the theorem is true for all. Christmas Theme in Philately

Postage stamps with the theme of Christmas is one of my favorites because of the unique pictures and funny. Christmas theme in the world of philately is still less popular with other themes such as the flora and fauna. Perhaps because things philately with the theme of Christmas is more difficult to find than the theme flora and fauna. Almost every country in the world to publish the theme of flora and fauna of each year. There are even countries that published the flora and fauna stamps more than once a year. While the theme of Christmas is usually only issued by certain countries and only once a year in December. Indonesia alone could be said almost no Christmas theme stamps issuance. Although a bit difficult, did not rule philatelist up Christmas theme. Objects Christmas-themed non philately can be collected in addition to the collection. Christmas cards can also be added to the collection, although the more Christmas cards are rarely used because of the short messaging service via mobile phone is more popular.

Pitcairn : The secret of Sexual Crimes

Beneath the stunning natural beauty, the island in the South Pacific turned out to keep a terrible secret : sexual violence against girls for generations. Pitcairn is included in the British colony, although the practical English to let the island operate alone. The governor of Pitcairn occasional visit, but the island has a system of self-government even police officers and court officials. Only in 1997, for the first time, a British police officer assigned to the Pitcairn. Gail Cox, community police, was sent for training. When she returned there in 1999, things have changed. Until finally, some teenagers had told Cox that they had been raped. Cox, who only had handled cases of traffic violations was destroyed by a dark secret that she found. Apparently, sexual violence against girls has become endemic in the island which includes British territory. Almost no girls who escape from sexual violence, and nearly every man alleged to be perpetrators. Almost five years have passed since the investigation began, September 2004 , twenty-nine people from outside the island arrived at Pitcairn for criminal cases in which perhaps the strangest British criminal history. They consist of legal officials, diplomats, police officers and journalists. The men with serious criminal records are no longer able to live and travel outside the island. On the island British Government has developed infrastructure and communications, but apparently, there mindset still has not changed.

How can small communities in remote areas that could change the negative? Sexual violence seems to grow in small places are isolated, and Pitcairn had all the requirements:
1. Region is very small.
2. Very remote.
3. What makes it effective, closed community.
4. There was no officers from outside, so the local residents make their own rules.

( Reader Digest Indonesia, in October 2009 ).

VIsited the Singapore Philatelic Museum

A walk to the museum can be fun. Hobby is a leisure activity undertaken gladly and surely also benefit the perpetrators of these hobbies. Hobbies, of course, should be fun for the perpetrators. For some people, a trip to the museum turned out to be a fun hobby. It must be recognized, go to the museum today is not the primary choice for many people. Those who lived in big cities like Jakarta is more like a walk to shopping, watching movies, or doing any other hobbies than a trip to the museum. When I visited the Singapore Philatelic Museum, which addresses in the 23-Coleman Street in the year of 2004, there was a sense of awe and envy when compared with the Postal Museum in the city of Bandung. When compared with the Postal Museum in Bandung that larger and richer collection, we have a lot to learn from them in terms of promotion. When we visited Singapore, the Singapore Philatelic Museum including the recommended place to visit. A laudable thing, when in some countries, museums are closed on holidays, Singapore Philatelic Museum to stay open. This helps provide an alternative holiday destination for people in the country who want to walk on holiday.

Stamp Collecting is One of My Hobbies

Hobby of collecting stamps since I started exactly in grade 5 elementary school. The first capital my stamp collection comes from the cover letters and postcards that are used anymore. After sitting in the senior high school I entered the member of a pen-pals club, and since then I have been flooded letters from all over the world asking me to meet and exchange stamps so I became a growing collection continues. There is a friend from Berlin a grandmother who just collect stamps fauna themes and there is a friend from Shanghai was a man who only collect stamps Olympic themes. For me not easy and difficult to collect specific themes like that. I collect all kinds of stamps, all kinds of themes, all kinds of forms, all sorts of countries, and then I grouped by themes. You can image one for one were collected and we arrange in an album, sometimes just because coincidense that we can complete a series. Through a small document stamp album we can around the world from one country to another and from one continent to another. I have suggestion or tip that might be useful for beginner collectors are do not be hasty rush to determine who will be selected themes to start collecting stamps, but collect all kinds of themes, so no boring fast.
